  2.  The X-copy scandal
  3. ===========================================================================
  4.  From one of our readers we received a copy of X-copy III. Normally we give
  5.  no attention to illegal copies but this time there was something different.
  6.  
  7.  X-copy III is spread by the programmer to the public to get even with 
  8.  Cachet Software in Germany. Again an example of a programmer who has
  9.  problems with his software company. We at Newsflash and UGA have been
  10.  cheated many times the last year so we know how it feels to be ripped 
  11.  off. It seems that many cheaters are active in the software business
  12.  making empty promises and ripping off artists. Examples enough, just
  13.  see what happened with Battle Squadron of Innerprise in Europe or
  14.  how the music for Beverly Hills Cop was stolen by Tynesoft from a 
  15.  Jungle Command demo (composed by Ron Klaren who did also the music for
  16.  the Plague and Battle Squadron). Tynesoft promised to pay the composer
  17.  but till now this has not happened !! Also Kingsoft Germany has a bad 
  18.  name among programmers so be warned and be carefull.

  20.  But back to X-copy III, the new features:

  22.  Improvements in XcopyIII  V1.0

  24.  Frezze Mouse .

  27.  By pressing Right mousebutton(again to release it) , you can frezze the
  28.  mouse pointer, which result in no steering of mouse back to (START)
  29.  if you by mistake touches the mouse while copying .

  34.  With ZAPdisk+ you can delete diskinformation, its ten times faster than
  35.  Erasedisk.

  41.  Cachet's other great product ,Cyclone ,is put in XcopyIII, its called 
  42.  Twincopy. To use these two options you have to get a Cyclone HARDWARE
  43.  addon. This copy utility is much better if you have to make a copy of
  44.  originals. I think Syncro express is a product which is much to 
  45.  expensive and have a higher error percentage than Cyclone(Twincopy).
  46.  Twincopy copies disks a little bit faster than DOSCOPY,DOSCOPY+.

  51.  A earlier version of xcopy V2.1(by Cachet) had a new option, the Setup 
  52.  option. This option could be executed from the CLI.
  53.  In my version you can choose this setup option from the menu, when you 
  54.  have choosen XC config, and pressed the start gadget, it saves a config 
  55.  in your S: dir when you exit XcopyIII. It loads this config file next 
  56.  time you start XcopyIII. If you decide not to save a config file, just 
  57.  press start again and it will be canceled.

  61.  This is a preview of a new function i think is good. If you forgot to turn 
  62.  of some of your drives, you can use this function to register them.
  63.  Put a disk in the drives you want to use, including the one turned on,
  64.  then press start, and the program will register the drives. Remember to 
  65.  turn them on before pressing (start).(the on/off switch, hehe!)

  67.  Its a little bit slow , but works fine, maybe in a later version i'll fix 
  68.  the processing speed.

  75.  As you properly can see this version is protected, and i think you know 
  76.  why. When I found out that you released my program (half of it) without
  77.  speaking with me first, your chances for receiving this to sell offici-
  78.  ally is near ZERO. It wasn't fair to release my version of xcopy with 
  79.  no sign of my name anywhere .

  81.  I have released this version, unofficially, but it is properbly better 
  82.  this way, you get your name out and I get some publicity, you get some
  83.  more out of it, the bad ,no money for it ,the good , some publicity.
  84.  You are welcome to use my ideas for your version of xcopy but this time 
  85.  you must work for it. Next time, pay your programmers and they will 
  86.  cooperate with you. If you can't manage that, its too bad. Do call, if 
  87.  you have some replies, sorry i had to do this way but your phone isn't 
  88.  working or maybe your company is closed ?
